in

Radio studio LALERAThe aims of LALERA TOI project is to produce materials, approaches, innovative learning and training methods using the radio and various e-learning techniques, in order to develop the linguistic competences of Romanian care-takers to help them overcome the difficulties of traditional courses in class, which are almost impossible to attend by persons doing internal jobs.

This aim is perfectly in line with the stipulations mentioned in the Action Plan for languages promoted by the European Commission because it responds to the need of building in Europe a really favorable environment for languages based on learning foreign languages as an activity that lasts for all life long. The addressees of this project are, in fact, very representative as “mobile sources” of intercultural and linguistic competences that are involved in work exchanges.

They represent the real human vehicle of the common European space based on exchanging ideas, discovering traditions, similar from a linguistic point of view, of neighboring peoples; on the reciprocal acceptance of peoples with different stories but with a common future and that must have, for the moment, the necessary capacities for understanding each other and communicating with one another.
The project for a linguistic exchange between Italy, Spain and Romania also responds to the criterion of a language learning that should be evaluated in a pragmatic way in the project, the aim is not  reaching the pattern of a native speaker, but learning a different language in a useful way for one’s own job, focusing on the spoken or written competence according to the job needs. As for the caretakers, they will be able to improve their professionalism by a better communication with the user and to integrate better in Italy and Spanish thanks to the overcoming of the linguistic isolation.

Specific aims of the project:

  • Introducing the criterion of European bilateral cultural exchange among nations from the same linguistic family, through chosen professional groups
  • Creating a pattern for language learning based on less experimented language teaching / learning strategies focused on specific professional targets
  • Promoting linguistic diversity through a reciprocity between languages, such as Italian, Spanish and Romanian
  • Using Radio programs, containing information, music and entertainment for promoting linguistic learning
  • Using a satellite system as a way of overcoming the limits of personal computers
  • Using language learning in the companies.
